Skylight on a cellar door
We’re turning our cellar into a rec room. Has anyone had any luck adding a skylight to metal a cellar door? Is there a product out there to fill this need. Obviously we’d like to let some more light into the basement. Thanks all.

I love this idea! I am in a landmarked building on an historic block. Do you think I could get away with installing one of these in the front of my building?
you could also look into a egress window well system
We have done this on two brownstones. Both times we replaced the metal caps with new structures that are built in. Both are slanted down from the building, have single side opening doors, and side vent windows. The first we built has an aluminum frame and lexan panels. The second is fully lexan. We had the first made at a place that builds storefronts, the second at a plastics shop. The light and air are worth the expense and bother.
