Stucco? Brownstone? Contractor Recommendation
I am looking to have a cinder block wall in my backyard (an extension from the neighboring brownstone) covered. I was wondering if someone could tell me the difference between covering the wall with brownstone vs. stucco? And also if someone could recommend a contrator to do thw work?

In the 21st century, brownstone = brown stucco. Unless you plan to order real brownstone from a quarry in CT, in which get ready to spend big big moolah.
stay away from this blog brother. ha-ha-ha
If it’s your neighbors wall, aren’t they responsible for finishing it?
i have seen Brothers Construction Doing brownstone work in jefferson ave. they are very professional workers. contact them at 718-972-2748
As Groucho said long ago: ” Stucco? Oh boy, can you get stucco!”
(Coconuts, the Marx Brothers tackle real estate in FLA)
Brownstone refinishing could be called stucco,we just only use an specific mix of pigments, types of sand, crushed stone etc… All carefully measured to achive the best match possible.
Now to cover the cinder block with something decent and cheap you could use concrete stucco, not the “foam” and paint it over if you like.
You could use a Limestone colored stucco and draw some lines to make it look good, create a baseboard and a coping stone.
Now again if you want to spend an extra dollar or two, make something nice and install a stone veneer over the block.
Hope you like my ideas.
Best of luck
