I was thinking of using a circular saw with a masonry sawblade and cutting multiple parallel lines about an inch apart to help break it up. Any suggestions would be appreciated
If you are burly you can use a sledge hammer to break it up and a crowbar to pry it apart.
where do you live you are wecome to use my electric jackhammer.
Rent a “gas powered” demo saw with a 14″ diamond blade.Should come with it,anyway. Your circular saw uses a 7 1/4 inch blade the most, and that is not enough to go thru the concrete.
But you only have 3 sq.f. that’s nothing.Buy a slatch hammer and done deal.
