Does anyone have recommendations for a good (but reasonalby priced) contractor to do a gut reno in Park Slope. There is a lot of original detail to be preserved, so experience in that regard is a must. Additionally, an extension might be built in back. Any advice? Also, if there is anyone that you would steer away from, that info would be appreciated as well.

thanks

  1. We were contemplating a reno of our townhouse in the slope and were refered to Nick from Redpes (3474071816. I saw some of their work that was done in Windsor Terrace and it fit what you’re looking for (preservation and quality reno, can’t speak on price). I ended up not renovating my place, but Nick was very informative and courteous, someone I would speak with in the future should I decide to renovate.

  2. I used an outfit called 812 Construction to gut renovate the bottom half of my brownstone, which included some original detail. They did a very good job, their prices were reasonable, and they were really efficient and fast and cared about their work product. Before hiring them, I saw a few other samples of their work and was suitably impressed. 917-682-5887.

  3. I attended a class on Brownstones this weekend at City Tech called ‘Anatomy of a Brownstone’. One of the speakers was the GC for AllRenovation, he presented a job on a Windsor Terrace brownstone with detailed woodwork, looked like nice work. They have pictures on their website on that job plus another brownstones in BedStuy…
