We’ve noticed a small crack, no more than 1/16, on the side of our wood stove fireplace. Any Bstoners out there know of any do-it-yourself repair kits or materials, or are we better off contacting a wood stove repair person, regardless of how small the fissure is?

  1. It won’t hurt to try JB Weld. It’s a “super duper” kind of epoxy which they claim has liquid steel in it. Sounded hokey to me, but when you’re desparate… So I used it to repair a boat exhaust manifold 8 years ago. It still runs today. You can go to their website where there are even more outrageous testimonials.
