Looking for a good, reasonably priced upholsterer
I have a great Victorian chair and a mid-century sofa that I want to have re-upholstered and would like to see if anyone has recommendations of good, reasonably priced upholsterers in the Brooklyn. Also, any recommendations for stores that have a wide array of good, reasonable fabrics would be appreciated!
You might check out the furniture joint. They have a web site. I have checked it out as I am thinking of attempting to upholster something. It says they sell fabric too. If you get any other info on upholsters or good fabric stores with good prices- please post!
Try Das:

He re-upholstered a 200 year old English drop-arm sofa for me and did a great, very affordable job. Certainly far, far less than any Manhattan-based decorator would have charged to sub-contract the work. At my request he used horse hair for some of the stuffing — it’s the best material and the most authentic for an antique. The turnaround was also terrific: about 2 weeks.
