Power Surges?
Does anyone know if using power tools can cause power surges? For example, if I use a sawz-all and someone else has their TV or computer plugged in, can it be fried? And if so, how can I prevent the damage?

To further expand on greek’s answer, he’s correct in saying that the one shot deal of failure related to a voltage surge from a sawz-all’s use is unlikely. However, many things can be affected by surges as low as +/- 5v. Anything with a microprocessor (TVs, computers, sensitive electronics) can, over time, be seriously f’d up by the relatively small fluctuations caused by a large motor cycling, like the fluctuations you’d get from a Sawz-all (or more likely, an AC unit).
Best advice is to heed Greek’s suggestion and protect sensitive electrics. Just get a surge protector that is correctly sized for the load.
answer is no
a power surge is when the voltage fluctuates from lets say 110v to 128 v . that can fry things like computers , tv’s ,etc .best way to avoid that is to use a surge protecter , it keeps the power at 110v . By you plugging in a sawzall all that does is draw more amps .worst case you will trip a breaker
