who are the bangladeshi’s that do the great roofing?
I can’t believe Nick is making false postings again!
Won’t that guy ever quit?
Times are slow, eh, Buddy?
You folks are getting the SHAFT from Nick.
It shouldn’t cost more than $2500.00 to recover an average Brownstone roof.
In many cases the BEST solution, is to rip off all the old crap down to the wood, but Nick and his ilk (there are plenty) don’t want to do real work (what beats fast money?) and will tell you it’s not necessary (BULLSHIT).
I suggest getting quotes for complete tear-offs from Bangledeshi’s who’ve been in the roofing business for years. Why overpay when you can get a much much better job done the RIGHT WAY from people just as experienced (and a hell of a lot harder working) than Nick?
I’m sick and tired of his shameless promotion on this site. It sickening.
We also just used Leak Master and Nick to put a new roof on our limestone house. Nick is very thorough in explaining all the options and different materials different roofers work in. We wanted the best, not the cheapest, so we went with Nick. As for him being expensive, his price was a little less than the quotes I’ve heard for other high-end roofers so that comment confuses me. Perhaps the other person didn’t do the same comparisons we did. Anyway, Nick and his crew were there on time for both initial appointment and doing the job. Nick was very responsible, easy to get hold of when we were scheduling the job. And it looks beautiful. Something I like about a company like Leak Masters is it’s a family business, and I find those businesses tend to perform better than others. Because they’re not just building a reputation for the name of a company (which someone can easily change if need be) but for the family name. As I understand it, Nick got the business from a family member, and now he has his son working with him. In true Brooklyn style! My email is provided so feel free to write if you want more info.
I too am a bit cautious when it comes to dealing with contractors. This is because of all the bad experiences that I’ve had with them in the past.
My neighbor had Leak Master do his roof last summer. He recommended Nick to me. When Nick came to give me a quote on my roof this past fall, I went up on my roof with him. Nick showed me his work. As I looked at all the connected roofs on my block. I was astonished with the difference in workmanship and appearance When I compared all the other roofs with his. He also provided me with several other references; which I checked into. I had several other quotes from local roofing contractors. When compared to the others I found Nicks quote to be reasonable. When all was said and done, I hired Leak Master to do my roof. I must say, I am most pleased that I did so. I also highly recommend Leak Master.
Please don’t take this comment the wrong way, i don’t mean it in a snarky fashion, but how does one generally know if a roofer did a good job? I am curious since I am getting ready to have some roofing done and i want to know what to look for and what to ask people who are potential references.
Nick is the man, but he is EXPENSIVE. He quoted me $4700 for a roof that another very experienced roofer did (with all of the same materials and techniques) for $2750. Although the adage that you get what you pay for is generally true in life, I’m not convinced that his roofs are twice as good or that they last twice as long.
