I am looking for a someone to refinish the exterior doors to our brownstone. These large double doors are in great need of attention and I am hoping someone can tell me if they are even worth refinishing.

Just gorgeous. I can’t imagine having done that myself. Excellent result.
$2100 sounds fair. I’m basing this on having gotten 5 quotes before hiring Joe. (He wasn’t the cheapest, but far from the most expensive.)

After spending 9 days straight working on the doors, I’m finally done. Nine days of scrapping, sanding, staining have come to an end. It took me 9 days because I did the work after my 9 to 5.

I am the original poster. Thank you for your advice. I met with Joe from Wood Zone and he gave me an estimate of $2100 to do the front doors (2), lift off veneer, strip an drefinish only the exterior side and install new kick plates.
Do you think this seems accurate? Thank you again.

Just to back up above response (from my GF), Joe showed up when he said he would, every time. They cleaned up after themselves every day. He did a fair amount more of the detail work than he really contracted for (we gave him a little more than original quote at the end in acknowledgement without him asking).
He also includes EVERYTHING in his quote. He doesn’t force you to provide any materials as some of the other quotes I got were stipulating.
