Can anyone recommend a local (NYC and surroundings) store that sells high quality bathroom vanities that are not outrageously priced. We are looking for a two sink, 60″ contemporary design solid wood vanity. We are having a hard time finding anything that we don’t have to order for 4-6 week delivery (not to mention the crazy prices they carry). We need it for pickup or immediate delivery.
Try L&B Fine Home Improvement Supply, they are located at 360 Hamilton Ave. in Brooklyn (look for blue awning under the Gowanus) – tel# 718-852-0343, near the Home Depot. I stumbled in there when they opened early this year and found some good deals on wood floor and bathroom fixtures, I recently went back and saw they now carry some great new bathroom vanities that looked high end and were reasonably priced, they also had a catalogue availble to look at…asked for Lilian or Ben- great Chinese couple, very customer friendly.

I don’t know how handy you are or if you have a contractor working with you, but in all of my renovations, I’ve always adapted antique pieces to make my vanities. You can take either cut holes in the existing top or tile a piece of plywood and wonderboard. It really looks way better than any store bought crap and you should be able to walk into any decent antique store and find a dresser to suit your needs. Just a suggestion.
