Has anyone every complained to Home Depot and got results? If so, where do you send the complaints? We are having a terrible time with a special delivery and the customer service is awful. (We’ve tried dealing with the store.) We’ll be taking our business to the non-corporate entities in the future, but for now we need our sheets of tile. With the service we’ve received so far, simply finding an employee competent enough to handle a refund is most likely out of the question.

  1. I ordered blinds from Home Depot. They gave me a date when the blinds will be delivered and nothing happened. I called them the next day, they said they’ll be there the following day. Again nothing. So, I called them and cancelled the order. They delivered the blinds the next day and the manager said that if I like them, I should try them on and if I still like them he would charge me only half the price. I accepted the offer and was refunded 50% of my money. I am looking forward to more problems with Home Depot. My advice, negotiate.

  2. I have been calling customer service since 08-17-06 to get a credit back for a part that they sent me instead of a under the counter hot water heater. They didn’t pick up the part until 01-28-07 to be sent back. It is now 03-13-07 and I still do not have my 77.04 credit. Everytime I call I am told the same thing. We will send and email and they will do a credit. I am so angry I can’t see straight. I will NOT shop at Home Depot ever again. Losing one customer at a time and maybe someone will wake up.

  3. Year after year the Home Depot sends out a press release on how they are going to spend millions of dollars on customer service. I have a news flash for the Home Depot “It is not working” When I signed my contract on 9-14-05 the Home Depot was full of promises and now they can not seem to keep them. Now almost 14 months later and problems still are not corrected you can see the Home Depot just does not care about its customers. They will lose one customer at a time and end up like the old HQ.

  4. For those that think the problem is with the consumer and not with Home Depot, check out the fact that Home Depot has been designated by several better business bureaus as “unsatisfactory”. That has been my experience and I won’t shop there again, either in the stores or on-line.

  5. man, i agree 100% about HD. never special order from HD. NEVER. but i’ll still buy a few things off the shelf.

i usually shop at lowe’s, but some things you can’t get, like Behr paint. i usually use Benjamin Moore, but some times i will buy plain white for trim, primer, or ceiling paint from HD. their prices on paint are like $10 cheaper per gallon.

but yeah, i special ordered tiles and the 2 weeks they promised turned into 10 weeks.

i complained long enough i got a $75 gift card. which i went back and used. it’s like an abusive relationship.

  6. You want tile, go to a tile showroom. There are dozens in downtown brooklyn.

Go to Home Depot for cheap items that they carry. Do not special order from Home Depot.

  7. I’m pretty sure ordering tile is fairly straight forward. I’m also fairly certain that I do not have it after three weeks of dealing with them. But you’re right. It must be my incompetence that picks up the phone and talks to her friends while I’m on hold for 15 minutes.

  8. Home Depot is great.

You are sadly confused if you: order a kitchen, special order an item, or go in there with a question.

Home Depot is a Big Box store with unbeatable selection and rock bottom prices. If they have what you want, and you understand what to do with it, but it. If not, go somewhere else.

The problem is not Home Depot. The problem is you.
