I wanted to hear some feedback on what people who have used Bay Ridge Windows think of them? Specifically if they did a nice job, installed the windows well, worked in a professional manner, cleaned up after themselves? It seems I have heard generally positive feedback about them but I wanted to double check before moving forward. Thanks so much!

  4. We used them for two doors and six windows. They were the best estimate we received (by a lot), the others we solicited were LwP and park slope glass (previous owners.

In the end it was fine. The doors were a little slow coming in and i had to keep calling to find out if they’d arrived…i thought they would call me when they came in, but, alas, i had to chase them down.

Also, on the doors some of the hardware was not what we asked for so we had to have that replaced.

But in the end, i would use them again. As far as home renovation projects have gone, working with them was the easiest and most professional situation we’ve dealt with yet.

  5. We used Bay Ridge Windows and they were generally reliable in terms of delivering on time, getting me drawings for the Landmarks Commission, and installing. However, after they left, I noticed that one of their installers used drywall screws to install the framing for the windows. When I called to complain, I was told to use wood filler to cover those giant black screw heads. I was very unhappy about that answer. Also, when I was getting an estimate, I emphasized that whatever and however the windows were installed, I wanted to be able to use my freshly stripped pocket shutters. I was assured that would not be a problem. However, the moldings that the installers used were not cut precisely enough so that my pocket shutters will now not open all the way. When I called to complain about that, I was told that my husband could easily use a planer to make the moldings even so that the shutters could open all the way. Again, a very unsatisfactory answer. If you go with Bay Ridge Windows, I would inspect their work very carefully before letting them go. My general contractor who was on site (because my husband and I work full time), did not notice these flaws – it really wasn’t his job anyway.

  6. I would try Modern Way windows on 3rd ave and St. marks..They sell wood Bonneville windows from Canada. Very good quality but much less than Bay Ridge Windows. Very happy with them after 6 months. Their installers are good too.

  7. I’m anon 11:36. Actually it was the door that developed the crack not the frame. I agree that I’m probably going to have to bypass Bay Ridge and push the manufacturer but then why did I need Bay Ridge in the first place. I went to them to purchase the door. If they’re the middleman then they should take some responsibility because they’re interfacing with the customer. At least they could be honest and say you’re on your own here’s the manufacturers number instead of the bs that their manufacturer is not returning their calls. Here’s the first line on their website “Bay Ridge Windows & Doors’ ultimate goal is to provide excellent customer service, giving our customers personal service. We are proud of the reputation we have earned by putting the customer first in every aspect of our business. ” Somehow I don’t think they’re liiving up to this!
