Trying to get some Viking appliances for my fabulous new under construction kitchen. Home click apparently doesn’t deliver Viking to our fair borough. Any ideas? Heard mixed reviews about Drimmers.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

  1. I have to agree about Joe’s Appliances (7812 5th Ave in Bay Ridge: 718-745-2800). Arline is the owner and has been for something like 30 years– we went there after going to Drimmer’s, and I’ll never go anywhere but Joe’s again. Her service, knowledge and recommendations are top — she will tell you when things are a waste of money and when things are worth paying up for. We ordered a Viking range as well as all new kitchen appliances from her. She will also arrange to give all the spec sheets to your GC if you need her to. And it’s less busy than Drimmer’s, so you get full attention (plus it’s open Saturdays).

  2. Some sales people at Gringer and sons are not helpful. Either they are lazy or just not knowledgeable about the products. So you definately have to do your own homework before visiting the store.

  3. I used Drimmer for my Viking and SZ appliances. No problems. Brenda was our salesperson and she was great! Some of the other salespeople rub me the wrong way, but hey wahdahyahwant.

  4. I’ve only had good experiences with Drimmers. Have you checked AJ Madison? I don’t know if they sell Viking, but I just got some appliances from them and all went well.

  5. I have bought many things from Drimmers though lately I have had some issues with them- aside from the typical nasty salespeople. I would NOT however buy an upscale appliance from PC Richards- the staff is not trained and unless you know exactly what you want ( and now you have so many choices with Viking), they will not be able to help you- or might give you wrong info- just had that experience buying a Weber Summit grill from them.

  6. nobody beats ‘Joe’s appliances’ on Ave I and McDonald avenue..delivery may not be free, but his discounts more then make up for it. Since your spending an insane amount anyhow, I recommend trying all 4 spots and buying from the lowest.

  7. Gringer + Sons on First Avenue in the East Village will beat any price and offer free delivery. Give Marvin a call there:

They will not, however quote Viking (for some odd reason) over the phone and Viking never publishes prices online. Also, I think PC Richards on Atlantic has Viking. Go in and check out the price and see of Gringer will beat it.
