Good price on Benjamin Moore paints in Brooklyn (Park Slope)
Can anyone recommend where I can get a good price on Benjamin Moore paint (specifically looking for Matte Finish) in Park Slope or surrounding area? I need to get about 10 gallons. How are tarzian and Pintchik? Anywhere else that you can recommend? Thanks for your help Aaron

I buy paint from Sherwin-Williams on 3rd ave @ Butler st. They have the paint called Duration Home and it comes in matte. it is awesome. Way better than benjamin moore. they also have more colors to pick from and more paint choices. Ask for Anthony he was great help
You should really have a test patch to see both color and test cleaning it before you commit to a 10 gal. paint job.
i’ve gotten bm paint from about 4 stores in bklyn. overall, i’ve been happiest with the product, price and service that i got at the store on park ave in clinton hill. i think it’s between classon and bedford. great prices. court street true-value is also great.
My painter recommended the matte finish, saying it looked like flat paint but was washable. Are you saying you had problems with it? Does anyone else have any experience with the BM Matte Finish paint?
Thanks
Aaron
If you’ve never used the Benjamin Moore matte finish–do not get the newer washable formula. I love all my other Benjamin Moore paint formulas–eggshell for most of the house, satin for the bathrooms but the matte finish to me is terrible. Try and clean it and you always see the marks of the towel/sponge. Eggshell cleans and looks MUCH better.
Liz, you are talking about Bruno’s on Court Street.
A little further afield, but also a large BM dealer – Weinstein’s on the corner of Thompkins and Halsey in Bed Stuy.
In terms of quality of paint/color does it make a difference where I get it? Do they all mix it equally as well? (Is it mixed at all?)
thanks
Best prices for Moore paint in brooklyn is Paints by George on McDonald and Church
yes, it is deluxe paint. They also sell the 5 gallon tubs which not everyone carries. These save you a bit of money.
I bought a 5 gal tub of contractor grade benjamin moore paint there and it was only $45 which just seemed ridiculously cheap to me. I’m sure the top quaility BM paint will be much more but I’m also sure it will be cheaper than Tarzian which if I recall charges $30+ per gallon. Not sure about the other places but Deluxe just sells paint and just BM so I think they will be your best bet.
Call around and ask for prices and let us know what you find.
