just do the home depot switch…I got a nice new tank. The propane guy even lets you jump the line in the garden area which on weekends, can be horrendous.
home depot and lowes both have exchanges, you drop off your empty tank and get a full one. Only thing is you might get an old rusty tank in exchange for your nice new one. If you want a fill up I recommend liberty gas as the other poster did. Only thing is you need to drop it off and then pick it up a few days later. It’s illegal to actually fill them in the city so they ship them outside of the city limits, fill them, and then return them. If you call them they’ll tell you when the truck comes to pick up and drop off so you can time it properly.
Liberty Gas on Smith in Red Hook. Only open till like 12:30 on Saturdays, closed Sundays. Get up early, fill er up, and hit the Red Hook ballfields for unbelievable tacos and papusas. The propane won’t be the half of the experience, gas wise.
