I recently purchased a brownstone that was painted yellow and brown. Money constaints do not allow me to chip it off and redo the entire facade, so I think that painting it a more aggreable color would be better. Does anyone have any recommendations for paint, etc.

  1. Edison Coatings has a product called Elastowall that is like Goretex for your walls… it is available through Allied Building products 718 706 0145. They can color it just about any color… seems to me it was about 300 bucks for a 5 gallon bucket.

  2. If your paint is chipping and peeling, painting over it is a waste of money. My house has peeling green and white paint, which I’ve had to ignore for a couple of years, for lack of money. I think a good power wash will remove most of it, and I’m not going to repaint. If you do repaint, I personally would get the same brown paint as the brownstone building. There are special stone paints that are supposed to allow the stone to breath. If I can find brand names, I will post. Hope that helps, if only a bit.
