I can’t say whether they’re good landscapers, but the site includes background information to help you choose the best landscaping company for your needs. Best of Luck!
Run a small gardening business in Brooklyn – am not a landscape architect, but have had much success reviving Brooklyn gardens Have also worked for the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy leading horticultural projects.
My projects have ranged for simple garden maintenance to replanting whole gardens for the sale of a Brownstone. Do not build decks or patios, but can provide a year round display and look specifically to hardy varieties that provide more bang for the buck. For info or references call Croft Gardening 917-513-0685
We used Evelyn Costa for our brownstone backyard (about 22×45) and she did a great job when it came to designing the paving part and putting up walls.
On the plant side, I was a little bit disappointed, but i am not sure it was her fault. It was late in the fall, my wife and I had no specific ideas in mind, and we really didn’t pay as much attention at that point. She put in some great bulbs that made the whole garden a splash of colour early on, but later in the summer to early fall there was only green but no flowers.
It all goes to prove you need to work closely with whomever you choose, and constantly ensure they have 100% your input on what you want.
This summer we are actually using someone else for our front whom we noticed did another neighbor’s front, Tom Castimore (Brooklyn Gardens).
His number in case you want to talk with him is 718-858-7836. I can’t recommend him personally since we are just about to use him, but honestly he has done a fantastic job plannign and caring for our neighbor’s front space. He did a nice combination of greenery, flowers, etc., all which come out at various times thru the spring/summer.
…also, we didn’t interview Jeffrey landscape, but there have been some pretty negative comments about jeffrey landscaping either on this blog or on parkslopeparents.com…you should do some search in the archives.
either way, if you look at the quality of the pictures on that website compared to those on the ones i just sent you…its clear that there are superior designers out there, depending on what you want to have done and how much you want to spend.
we went with the lowest cost proposal with GardenWorks (they don’t have a website), and wish that we’d not taken the easy road in that way…evelyn costa was the most pricey, but had some really great references.
I was looking for one as well and came across this guy’s website. I haven’t called him yet because I want to wait until the other contractors are finished.
Here’s a link that may help you choose a good landscaping company:

Stay away from Evelyn Costa. Too expensive and what you get for the money ain’t worth it.

We used GardenWorks…email me for my thoughts. Also, we strongly considered using Cynthia Gillis:
