Well, it’s late in the thread, but I had a wonderful experience with Bay Ridge windows, and in my case, they were also thousands of dollars less. They came twice to measure (at my request) and did multiple bids for me (different scenarios) and were always very professional & kind. They also accepted credit cards (on the first two payments), and for the amount of the window project, I wanted to get the miles!
speak to billy. Great place and probably ha the best prices. Installers Louis and Joe are both very clean workers.
Antoinette,
How big are the windows? Smaller windows I’d say $1200 per window, larger ones $1800. Before installation. Sorry for the bad news.
I have to replace all ten of the facade windows on a Landmarked brownstone. The owner put in vinly windows ten years ago and the Landmark commission said they have to go. How much should I escrow to get teh work done?
10:48 — When did you use Air Flo? I tried to use them and they were unprofessional and unreliable. I’ve also heard of them taking other people’s deposits and the customer never sees the windows. And I think they use poplar wood for their windows, which rots faster, if I’m not mistaken.
I love my low E Marvins, they are really keeping us warm. They really don’t let the cold in. I’d say worth the money in the long run, they are so well made and the energy efficiency is just fantastic.
Hi Tom,
I went with all wood windows and did 8 replacements (Ultimate Double Hung Inserts) and 2 Magnum Tilt & Turn. The latter are total replacements,i.e. brick-to-brick installations. Because my exterior wood frames were still in good shape, I was able to keep them. Hooray! BTW, Marvin’s wood exteriors come primed.
If you want I can email you to arrange a more in-depth phone conversation about the details.
Anon 2:06, $1K difference in quotes for installation work is substantial! If I were you, I’d give Bill a call to confirm whether both Bayridge and EZ Tilt are quoting you prices for the identical job. Fact is, I went back and forth a bit with EZ Tilt on my windows order. By the time we finally got all the details settled, I discovered a mistake in their quote. As soon as I brought it to their attention, though, they immediately reviewed their calculations and corrected it.
Hey GardensGal, did you do complete new window installation or did you use Marvin Replacement windows? Did you lose any of your original mouldings? What did they do on the exterior? Did you use wood exterior? I am in your neighborhood and am about to do all the windows. Please let me know!
Thanks
I received quotes from both, and the one from Bayridge was thousand less, not sure why yet.
I highly recommend Bill Jacobs and E-Z Tilt. Bill and his crew are very professional, experienced and personable. They deliver what they promise. My installation of 10 windows was done this past December and I’ve since had no regrets. I would do business with them again.
