electrical costs
Is $19,000 too much for an electrician to put in about 20 fixtures (recessed light etc), 20 outlets and 10 switches?

anon above- were all your walls already opened for that price? and who did you use?
That’s outrageous. I did my whole 2 family for about $12K including new meters and new 220 service.
Call Vinnie at Supercharged Electric on Staten Island. Everything on the same floor with no new service panel should be around $125 per “point”.

Hi,
As a rule of thumb $200-$250 per fixture point depending on the wall construction and the type of light fixture is a good rule of thumb, for rough electric. Fixtures are additonal as mentioned above. Locations have not cost $100 in NYC in a number of years. Your price may also reflect new electrical servace. Are you replacing the panel box? Finally is the patching and repair of the walls that will be damaged by the electrician included in this price? That work is usually additonal as well.
Good Luck…gideon@studio-ga.com
Should be $100/outlet,switch/fixture. 50 points =$5000
oh shit yea that’s way much . if your buying the lights then the price should me more like 9- 11 k . if the electrician is figure more like 13- 14 k.
This is all on one floor, BTW.
