We would like to locate a cast iron fireplace cover to fit in an arched surround opening 26 5/8″ high and 18″ wide. We would need only the cover/door piece not the iron surround piece. The shape seems to be fairly standard among Brooklyn houses – it’s the same shape as the fireplace photo in the Dec. 15 2005 slate fireplace post. Thanks in advance for any advice.

  1. Hi, I have one you may be interested in. The measurements are very slightly different, it’s exactly 26″ tall by 17 5/8″ wide. I found this site trying to research the wording on the back “SS BENT 412 EAST 26ST NY NO 21.” I’m planning to put it on eBay soon, but until then anyone interested can email me at melissany@gmail.com and I can send photos.

  2. I might have one, I will have to measure it to make sure. Just the center arched flat inside panel not the whole surround right? I will take a photo of it and e-mail it to you.
