Good Electrician
We live in Park Slope and have been dealing with too many dodgey contractors, etc. Can you recommend a decent and good electrician? Thanks a million.

Also, if you need a recommendation for a painter/plasterer: Call Gus at 718.677.1741. Again, he did our whole house after the rewiring and did a wonderful very neat job.
Supercharged is in Staten Island. I have worked with them as a subcontractor on several ocasions with very good results. If the plaster/painter is on the site during rough in the holes the electrician makes are usually smaller. Rewiring an old house has very specific secrets of the trade that require alot of gentle persuation in order to not destroy old plaster/ wood work. Also ask them in what ways are they going to protect your floors, furniture, and lungs from the fine dust produced in abundance when the chopping begins.
Is Super Charged Electric based in Brooklyn or Staten Island?
For my next career, I’m going to become a licensed electrician. I’m beginning to realize that they can pretty much charge what they want (and you really have to pay for a reliable one) because other contractors can’t “fake it”.
The cost of rewiring depends on if any wiring can be salvaged…but based on the estimates we received, it can cost anywhere from $3,000-$8,000 per floor. And that’s not including the plaster/repair of the walls when it’s all finished.
Does anyone have a sense of how much re-wiring a 4-story brownstone should cost?
I have also heard very good things about Supercharged Electric in Carroll Gardens.
I used Rite-Up – great guys, ask for Phu Vo: 917-295-0518 (tell him Jean sent you)
They just re-wired my whole house and did a great job with minimal mess
we just used Super Charged Electric to rewire our whole brownstone. The process (by its nature) was a nightmare, but all in all, we were very happy with Super Charged…
