I live in an old Victorian house in Ditmas Park just across the park from all you Brownstone folks and I’m looking for someone good & trustworthy to insulate our attic. Everyone I’ve found in the area through the yellow pages or on google only does commercial properties. Any leads would be appreciated.

  1. I can’t be bothered with anything these days, but shrug. I just don’t have anything to say recently. I haven’t gotten much done recently. Nothing seems worth thinking about.

  2. Saw this request and thought “hey, Joe would be great for them”.. but i guess he’s made the rounds. He filled my ditmas park victorian top to bottom a while back. You’ve gotta love a guy that really really loves energy efficiency. (We got some new windows.. he begged to try them and just kept opening and closing and saying “ooh, hear that seal? That’s a great tight window. Wow.” )

  3. I live in Ditmas Park West in a 105 year old wood frame. We also used Federal Conservation to have insulation blown in between our walls. We used the fiberglass as it is more fire resistant than the more natural products. My research on the natural products showed that the natural products tend to settle faster than fiberglass. So fiberglass will last longer. It was very reasonable price wise and we could feel the difference immediately. I would suggest you consider this too if you live in one of these old houses. Federal Conservation was fast, clean and friendly.

  4. My neighbor recommended a company to me yesterday–Federal Conservation Group; 1-800-675-1660. They are the only insulation people in the area who use only all-natural, environmentally-friendly materials, with no chemicals. Joe, the owner, comes with a partner to do the work himself. He showed up right on time, did the job as promised (it took only about an hour), and cleaned up completely when they were done.

  5. Try this company, they did my co-op building 10 yrs ago.
