Asbestos Removal Help

Asbestos removal in general is expensive, Liam was VERY fair (compared to all the other quotes I got…9 in total). He was VERY helpful and extremely professional. I didn’t have a lot of asbestos, the previous owner had someone do a really crappy job but Liam cleared everything and re-insulated my pipes for a total fee of $2,600. He also reccomended someone for testing (I’m setting up my speech therapy practice in our basement so I want to be very sure of no health risks).

I recommend that you research the guidelines on asbestos removal as per NY state dept of labor, their devision of safety and health issues the contractors licenses. Work permits are required if asbestos area is over a specified footage (I don’t remember the exact number mine was below).

Make sure your contractor is a licensed to remove asbestos, SOME contractors lie I had 2 guys who were NOT on the state list and was very vague when I asked them to explain their procedure of asbestos removal.

After a few calls to DEP and the state office I got the official NY State list of licensed asbestos removal contractors:
