Here’s a Closer Look at the Massive Warehouse Planned Next to IKEA in Red Hook
Newly spotted renderings of the planned building, located at 640 Columbia Street, show the full scope of the project along with detailed views of the design of each of its eventual three floors.

We now have a better look at what the end result may be for the massive fulfillment center being built next to Ikea in Red Hook.
It’s located at 640 Columbia Street, and newly spotted renderings as well as a video (seen here) on a commercial leasing website show the full scope of the project along with detailed views of the design of each of its eventual three floors.
Once completed, the three-story facility will have 335,813 square feet dedicated to commercial use. In addition to the warehouse space, there will be 164 parking spaces in total spread across two levels of the building.
In the works since at least 2018, the project replaces a long empty lot. A new-building permit was issued in September.
Manhattan-based firm Ware Malcomb is the applicant of record. Their firm specializes in manufacturing projects all across the country, as well as Canada and Mexico. According to property records, the owner is Dov Hertz of DH Property Holdings, who is developing similar large manufacturing projects in Sunset Park, the Bronx and Staten Island.
The warehouse will join others in the neighborhood, including a building at the former site of the Revere Sugar Factory at 270-280 Richards Street, where Norman Foster-designed plans were scrapped and Amazon just signed a lease, and the historic Lidgerwood building at 202 Coffey Street UPS where UPS is building a new complex.
