We’ve been reporting on this development on Smith Street ad nauseum, but that’s only because we’re really interested in what the final product will look like. Back in June we were told the buildings would be restored to their original design. And last month we noticed exterior work was gaining momentum. The first Russo building has now lost its entire front facade and it’s clear that there will be windows added to the roof. Since they’re obviously deviating a bit from the original building design, we wonder how much of it – the color? the signs? – will remain. GMAP
Someone will claim George Washington slept there, that’s why.
Why would you bother preserving any part of those pathetic wrecks?
Hopefully none of the original exterior will remain.
You have to love that green aluminum siding on the house next door. The color perfectly matches the color of the water in the canal….
