We’ve been tracking the trials and tribulations of 163 Washington for three years now, through BSA hearings and financing-related pauses, so we almost got into a car accident (well, not really, but you get the idea) as we drove by yesterday afternoon and noticed that the construction fence was finally down, providing the first decent view of the entrance and plaza area. The 17-story building is slated to have 50 units (supposedly condo but for all we know that’s changed) and, according to the description on StreetEasy, commercial space for medical offices. GMAP

  1. I recently looked at an apartment in a downtown Brooklyn building (Brownie gets paid for advertising but I don’t.) and as I looked east, I asked myself, ‘what is that building?’ A moment later I realized the answer is 163 Washington. It really sticks out like a sore thumb, even from 200 feet in the air.
