Brooklyn Bridge Park Community Advisory Council Meeting
According to Brooklyn Heights Blog: “At its last meeting, on April 20th, the Council passed a resolution urging the Committee on Alternatives to Housing of the Park’s board of directors to reconsider the parameters imposed on the consultants hired by the board to study alternative sources of revenue to fund park operations and maintenance, and to consider other revenue sources not previously studied. Since then, local politicians have also urged further consideration. Feedback from these proposals will no doubt be the principal subject of discussion at Tuesday’s meeting.” Tuesday, May 24th, 6:30-8:30 p.m., St. Francis College, Callahan Center, 180 Remsen Street (between Court St. and Clinton St.)
The North Flatbush Avenue BID’s 25th Anniversary Celebration
The North Flatbush Avenue BID will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a talk by Commissioner Robert Walsh from NYC Small Business Services and a silent auction that will benefit childrens programming in the community garden. Wednesday, May 25th, 7-10 p.m., Burrito Bar and Kitchen, 307 Flatbush Avenue at the corner of Prospect Place.
Bushwick City Farms Benefit
An event to raise funds for soil for Bushwick City Farms’ new farm site on Stockton Street. The work of local artists will be on display; there will be live music by the Sullied Accolades; and refreshments will be served. All art for the benefit is donated by local artists. Friday and Saturday, May 27th and 28th, 6 p.m.-1 a.m., at 3rdeye(sol)ation Gallery, 1501 Broadway.
