After sitting empty for the last couple of years, the retail space at the 303-unit development at 306 Gold Street known at the Oro will finally be filled. As evidenced by the notice in the window, the storefront facing Flatbush Avenue will be a wine store. (The other retail space, the one facing Gold Street, we hear will be an AllState Insurance office.) Should be particularly nice for residents of all the new buildings around there to be able to buy wine close to home! The Oro is an advertiser on Brownstoner.
Love it.
that beardy grungy guy at zap really knows his shit.
zap tends to have a big markup and service can be kind of surly…though to give them credit their selection is decent for the size of the place.
sorry but zap definitely does not suck.
I would love it if my building opened up a liquor store in it.
They ran out of Koolaid.

This part of Flatbush Ave isn’t really a neighborhood. It’s a thoroughfare with virtually no retail until you hit Fulton. A wine store is not my first choice b/c there are other needs, but an empty storefront is far worse.
Thank goodness this location will finally be getting an insurance office to help draw the foot traffic it needs. As opposed to, say, a restaurant or grocery store.
