  1. I thought the Clinton Hill Coops were “housing projects” at one point that were built for naval housing or working class families or something like that and then converted to coops. Am I mistken and confusing this with the story of the projects in FG adjacent to the Navy Yard?

  2. I live in the coops and ya they look like projects from the outside but I have tons of space and a great views of all your brownstones. Those are not the coops pictured by the way, wrong window configuration.

  3. They look like projects from afar but when you get up close they really don’t. The grounds are nicely maintained, the lobbies are much nicer than the average project lobby etc. Its a shame that so many people have that negative reaction to them because they are nice places to live, community-wise, and the spaces are actually quite nice and spacious with good light and views. I guess that keeps prices down though, making them a good buy for a first time buyer.

  4. Start fining ’em on the basis of EXISTING LAWS (like those the SEC and DOJ ignore). Clean tracks/city overnight (okay, maybe a year). City needs $. That’d be a windfall.

  5. Seeing as half of parents can’t seem to teach their kids to put litter in a trash can, or carry it until you find one, they should teach it in NYC schools. Do people expect some skivvy to continually clean up after them?

  6. quote:
I’m always amazed at the number of people tossing garbage into the track bed when there is a trash can right behind them on the platform. I guess they’re too short sighted to see that their trash can cause a track fire.

me too. im not a greentard and dont care about the environment for the most part, but i do get pissed off when i see people tossing stuff on the tracks (or throwing crap on the ground). of course i still do occassionally throw a cigarette butt on the ground (i am however seriously trying to stop myself from doing that. it’s so low class)
