  1. Never said it was Mr. Roger’s neighborhood, 11217. Just said that it wasn’t the 7th level of hell either. The story didn’t say what part of Sterling, which stretches from Park Slope to Brownsville. Any street in Bklyn that long is bound to have parts that are not all that nice. I stand by my defense of the neighborhood I proudly call my own. Please attend our House Tour on October 2nd, and see for yourself.

  2. RE: 10 Bloods gang members busted on Sterling in Crown Heights for murder as well as heroin and coke drug rings, but I was shamed when I said I didn’t feel comfortable walking around certain parts of Crown Heights.

Happy to hear about the bust, but here’s evidence that making Crown Heights seem like Mr. Rogers neighborhood are a bit far fetched.

  3. Dave, I’m a proud bleeding heart liberal, but I have no sympathy for rapists of any sort. A 14 and 15 year old in this city, this day and age, knows what rape is, and know that it is wrong. Especially when they are on a crime spree anyway. My bleeding heart might want them to be in a max security juvie facility until they are of age, but they should do adult time for an adult crime. Swiping an Ipod from a store is a youthful transgression. Robbing, beating and raping a woman is not.
