There was a lot of talk on the blogosphere about Flea fave Scratchbread trying to open a place in Bed Stuy using the funding website Kickstarter. We smelled their new location from about a block away, and must say the place looks awesome. (It also smells so good people were stopping on the street to peer in.) It’s opening at 1069 Bedford, the old Focaccino space. A sign on the door reads, “We’re not open yet but one day we will be.” But, Bed Stuy Blog notes this Sunday Scratchbread previewed its walk-up window hot toast menu. Apparently the menu featured muffins, sticky buns, Brooklyn Soda Works soda, and produce from BK Farmyard. Here’s hoping it opens really, really soon. GMAP

Is that bike in the window supposed to look like it’s supporting the shelves? Bascially, a decoration? If so, that’s a waste of money.
If not, then never mind.
