How about Fornino. Great straight forward food, in a large homey atmosphere, nice bar, good location on 5th Ave

Really? Are there? Where’s a place that has *good* straight forward food (as opposed to “fancy” or “ethnic”) and a decent comfortable atmosphere? Maybe a good bar area thats neither hipster themed nor lunk-head sports bar. Maybe Park Slope Brewery… I dunno
Correction: Are those really items that should generate any sort of excitement when there are already plenty of places offering those same things in the area?
Agree with ishtar….if done right, this will work. People are very into comfort food right now…nearly all the most popular places in the city right now are either Southern Food, Comfort Food or farm to table locavore stuff.
Big, beautiful space. I hope they succeed.
No, nobody cares for places like ShakeShack, 5Guys, Grimaldis, Lucali, Franny’s……

Those sound look some good offerings. Hopefully they can execute them well enough to attract enough customers. Nothing worse than bad comfort food.
