Single White Female is set in the Ansonia. The most interesting thing about the movie is the Briget Fonda character inherits a rent-controlled apartment, which has like, circular ballroom with inset parquet designs on the floor and these fabulous windows.
rosemary’s baby is great for real estate porn. single white female? i know i saw that but i dont remember it being anything remotely like seeing it for that!? it may have been the porn version tho? i dont know
Oh, and regarding the Ansonia,in this crowd I am not ashamed to admit that I watched “Single White Female” this weekend on Netflix — entirely because of the real estate porn.
“You mean the little barber shop on N9th/Bedford? It’s actually only 25 for a men’s cut – 35 for long hair.”
Hrm, I swear he came home and said it was something like 70. The place where Mousey Brown was before they moved? The twee one, that does kid’s hair too?
Yeah, more4, want something local. He’s lazy. Whatever neighborhood we move to, that’s where he gets his hair cut. He’s done Time salon too, but I swear they really do charge him $70. Maybe we will try the place down Fulton from them next…
“I know it M4L, but those 2 popped out as being interesting because of the outdoor space especially. And the Ansonia is a great building.”
I happen to love the Ansonia. And Prospect Heights. And Vanderbilt Avenue. I have both the Ansonia and 2 Prospect Heights searches saved on StreetEasy and get daily updates. That said, while I am exploring other nabes, my preference, yes, is to stay in Brooklyn Heights or Cobble Hill or Carroll Gardens.
a shorter to the point answer would’ve been “M4L is RIGHT”

if you have kids, luna park is actually not a bad deal cuz you can get a wrist band for 4 hours for 24 bux. without it the rides are like 5-6 dollars.. i went on two.. but it wasnt that crowded and the wait for the big good fun rides wasnt long at all… probably horrible on weekends, but definitely worth it during the week. be forwarned tho, you cant take your murse on the rides with you you have to leave them on the ground below… which is kinda disconerting, but i didnt have anything expensive on in it so it wasnt that big of a deal. also most of the big rides wont let you on with flip flops (which i dont wear, but saw lots of peiople have to leave their flip flops on the ground and go on the rides barefoot.

Why am I not surprised to hear that the beach at Coney Island is littered with garbage from lazy slobs????
