And now a tipster has sent us a picture of a new bagel shop called Catskill Bagel Company at 1416 Cortelyou. Says Ditmas Park Blog, “They do make their own bagels, which run to the airy rather than dense end; I had one warm, which was very nice.” GMAP

A shame about that ATM out front. Looks tacky.”
Speaking of tacky – a pork pie hat with a long blonde wig aint a good look.
Oh, I see now. Originally the map was pointing to a location in Cobble Hill.
“Hot meatloaf and mashed potato sandwich at Catskill Bagel is awesome and HUGE!”
that sounds GOOD!
Sorry if double post. Several neighborhoods make up the Victorian Flatbush part of Flatbush. Technically the part of Cortelyou seeing new businesses is Ditmas Park West. DPW is the original name given to the sub-neighborhood by the original developer some 100 years ago.
Mary Kay Gallagher has a good map and background history on Victorian Flatbush.

Hot meatloaf and mashed potato sandwich at Catskill Bagel is awesome and HUGE! $8, but definitely can be split between two people. Highly recommended.
Blowfish are you kidding? Ditmas Park is a sub-neighborhood in Flatbush, which extends to the south of Prospect Park. Very broadly, it is between Windsor Terrace and Prospect Lefferts Gardens (and a lot of other stuff but those seem to be most familiar to people who know Park Slope).
These additions to Cortelyou are awesome!
And yes, I hope the sketch street ATMs disappear. Of course, we could use an actual bank around these parts, without schlepping down to Newkirk.
> what the hell is ditmas park. Isn’t this just Cobble Hill?
No. It’s nowhere near Cobble Hill.
I went there the other day. The bagel was pretty darn good. I’m glad it finally opened.
Sorry if this ends up here twice – it’s been 20 minutes.
I had a sesame bagel from here for breakfast today, yummy. Like an H&H bagel (UWS) but not as sweet.
I was told (by someone who should know) that the atm will be replaced soon by something more botanical.
