It’s hard to keep track of all the commercial news coming out of Downtown Brooklyn these days, but this news is certainly worth revisiting now that work is underway: Jake’s Wayback Burgers will join the ranks of Panera and Shake Shack as new restaurant arrivals to the area. (Crain’s originally reported the news back in October.) Jake’s is a Connecticut-based burger and hot dog chain and this will be its first store in the city. A 15-year lease was signed and it should open in the next month or so. GMAP
good to know altervoce, i may check that out. ‘new haven style’ is not meaningless to me — that is the best pizza on earth
duck’, the guy who owns Ignatzio’s on Water Street in DUMBO used to own a bunch of places in New Haven, although “New Haven-style” is a phrase I have only heard and is meaningless to me.
Are we calling it “DoBro” now because “Downtown” has too many syllables?
no wait

Yelp commenters in Pennsylvania put Jake’s roughly on par with 5 Guys:

anything coming from connecticut is not a good thing.
“If you are going to mention Micky D’s, you might as well throw in Checkers as well.”
And Five Guys on Montague is close enough as well to note.
11201, I completely agree with you re: Sea Asian. I really liked getting takeout from there and thought it would survive after it moved from Clark Street. I’m sad to see it go.
