We had heard that the new pizza joint on Court was slated to be Pronto Pizza, but until a few days ago that was confined to rumor status. No more: The Staten Island-based chain is now sporting some spiffy new signage at the 139 Court Street storefront. We haven’t tried the pizza before—anyone know if it’s any good?

  1. My Little Pizzeria is not good. I was in there last week and decided it would be my last time. Been waiting for something on or near Atlantic, so I hope this is decent. I don’t really care if my slice joint is a chain as long as it has a decent slice.

  2. Insertsnappynamehere- Luigi’s has always been the 1 pizzeria that I bring people too when they ask for good Brooklyn pizza- even people who have lived in the neighborhood their whole lives and never knew about it- and every single one of those people has been hooked ever since!

@ Butterfly- You will not Regret it! They have the tastiest crispiest crust I’ve ever had and they’re Sicilian pizza is amazing too- it’s so different than all the other places. I might have to get it for lunch today after all this pizza talk!!

They Filmed a scened from the Adam Sandler movie Big Daddy in there- you can see some movie stills on the wall inside.

  3. Harsh crowd — My Little Pizzeria is good middle of the road style NY pizza. Totally different thing that South Brooklyn, Lucali etc.

I’m not sure why this place is opening here given all the other pizza options in the area, and their sign does look cheap a##, but I wish them and well and hope the pizza is good.

Sam’s, by the way, is fantastic. Most underrated pizza in the city.

  4. House of Pizza and Calzones on Union Street in Columbia Heights or Carroll Gardens West or whatever is great.

And I like Sal’s on Court — but their brick oven only.

I’ve heard Sam’s on Court is also good, or was until the original owner retired, but I’ve never tried it.

Francesco’s (formerly Nino’s) on Henry is decent.

Have never been able to get into Lucali’s.

  5. La Rosa was the OLD place next to Pacifico (I couldn’t remember the name earlier in this thread). I didn’t like their pies… they were replaced (completely different interior, oven, menu, etc) with Pacific Pizza. Pacific used big balls of fresh mozz, ahd decent sauce, and the crust was firm enough that you could hold a slice horizontal (I know that’s not everyone’s style, but that’s the kind I like).
Last night, I stepped into My Little, and although I didn’t order anything, I could tell by looking that I wouldn’t like their crust. Even if it was well-done, I’ll bet anything there’s no way that greasy pie could be crisp.
The fancy-sorta place down Atlantic (near the Waterfront Bar- Casa Tua?) isn’t bad. When I say “fancy”, I mean, they don’t have pepperoni; they have something similar (like, spicy salami, I think)- I’m normally not wild about places like that, but this one was ok.

  6. The pizza joint attached to Pacifico wasn’t called Pacific Pizza. It was called La Rosa and Sons, and when it first opened it had really good pizza.

Love the Supreme Pie at My Little Pizzeria, but it doesn’t travel well.
