Tons of fun, free concerts, film screenings and performances are returning to Downtown Brooklyn’s MetroTech Commons next month as part of the Summer @ MetroTech series. The BAM R&B Festival will bring talented blues, jazz and folk artists to the bustling office corridor every Thursday afternoon starting June 5, and both Sundance and Rooftop Films will screen free outdoor movies during June and July. Other highlights include the City Parks Putting Challenge on June 3 and live food, music and a petanque tournament to celebrate Bastille Day in July. And in September, opera, dance and spoken word performers participating in the BEAT Festival will liven up the commons with lunchtime performances. You can follow the full schedule of events with this PDF and the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership’s event calendar.
