Tonight the Environmental Protection Agency will meet with local pols and residents to discuss the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and potential concerns about the flooding of the Gowanus Canal. According to the meeting notice, “This meeting will be an opportunity for Gowanus residents and business owners to speak with the EPA about the water sampling results and ask any questions they may have. Information will also be available on resources for those affected by the storm.” The EPA already tested the waters and said that the levels of bacteria in the canal, unsurprisingly, were high. The meeting will take place tonight at 6:30 pm at P.S. 32 at 317 Hoyt Street.
