I read in The NYT that Shake Shack is coming to Fulton Mall.
I think thats great. Really. I loved discovering Fulton Mall when I moved here in May. I only wish there were more interesting shops.
Downtown Brooklyn is already cool, it may be less cool when all the development ends.
11217, agree the street is great with the new trees, benches – but there is this creepy music playing too that detracts a little bit.

As much as people rag on Fulton Mall, I used to find 86th st in Bay Ridge to a garbage dump.
If you haven’t been to Fulton Mall lately, it looks excellent. The trees, the new lighting, and it’s SO clean.
One day soon, when downtown Brooklyn is considered “cool,” people will be arguing over who was there first.
