Be sure to stop by the Brooklyn Flea this Saturday in Fort Greene and bring middle school level books for the nonprofit group Read This. They are holding a book drive to restock the library of a New Orleans middle school badly damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Of course, the flea will also be hosting 100 vendors featuring a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and food. On Saturdays, the market will be located at the Fort Greene location and on Sundays you can find the market at One Hanson which is located at the clocktower Art Deco building at Flatbush Ave., across from the Target mall. Most Brooklyn Flea photos have been rather so-so, with people mingling among tables of difficult-to-distinguish, nondescript blah merchandise. I didn’t think of that before seeing this photo. Oh, actually I like the dresses too.
