La Pizzetta occupied the space at 145 Atlantic Avenue until it underwent a change in management and become Casa Tua, another brick oven pizza place. After six months, Casa Tua wasn’t doing so well either. We saw paper back up on the windows recently and were told the space will reopen, yet again, as an Italian and pizza restaurant. There will be a new name but we got the impression it’s still under the same management. We were told the soft opening would be this weekend, did anyone see any action there?
Is Casa Tua Done For? [Brownstoner] GMAP
It looks like a new storefront, no? And from the photo it looks like they lost that weird bit of wall at the entrance that made for awkward seating in the window. And possibly a new AC above the door. Or was that all from the second iteration?
I thought Casa Tua had the best pies in this area, without going deep into Carroll Gardens. Looks like they just redecorated, because the interior has the same setup as the last configuration.
Maybe third time’s a charm trying to make a pizza place work there?
As far as I can tell, the Casa Tua iteration and the La Pizzetta iteration were the same people. I’m pretty sure the waitresses were the same, and the entire staff was Polish at both. Both have been perfectly enjoyable, but for some reason they’ve done ZERO marketing. How about some menus? A mailing? Something? I don’t think anyone knows it’s there.
i walked by while there was a private party at night. it looked really nice inside, very polished, if not a little clichéd in the frankie’s spuntino sort of way (in terms of decoration). also i believe there was a bar.
yes there’s a lot of pizza around here, but there’s a big difference between made-to-order brick oven pizza with interesting ingredients and the lukewarm slice you get at reginella’s. this will be good for heights residents since all they have is monty’s and fascati – lucali’s is a bit of a trek and the wait is insane.
upscale restaurants with actual GOOD food do well around here. i think this place could succeed.
pizza not a great idea, plenty around there
think of something new!
Yes, the paper was down, and I saw people eating there over the weekend. I really liked this place when it first opened, but then, not so much, but that was 2 incarnations ago.
