About a month ago we saw construction at Casa Tua at 145 Atlantic Avenue and were told the restaurant was being renovated. (It had only been open since March.) But BoCoCa Land noticed it was still papered up during the Atlantic Antic, and their website isn’t fully functioning. When we passed by yesterday the place was completely boarded up. Anyone know what’s up with this place? Doesn’t look promising!

  1. Damn. I mentioned this place as one of the only passable thin-crust joints in the thread about Pronto Pizza. It always seems empty, so I wouldn’t be surprised to hear they are closing.

  2. Why do restauranteurs think people will buy “renovations” when they are clearly out of business?

Between the multiple pizza joint failures at 145, Mezcal’s closing, and a couple of other things, that block has had a tough couple of years. (Though Heights Chateau, Chip Shop, and Pete’s seem to do pretty well. So does Floyd, but damn, they could actually use some renovations–they had ceiling and bathroom leaks last Saturday.)
