Another Tween Store for Brooklyn
Earlier this month we noticed a tween store that had popped up in one of the Pintchik storefronts on Bergen Street, and now another one has opened in Boerum Hill. Probably reflects what I have seen in these neighborhoods — families aren’t moving to the suburbs anymore when their kids get to middle school because there are now very good public middle school options for kids, especially in District 15.
Aeropostale is much cheaper than Gap, or these tween stores for that matter.
Tweendom is just a few years of very fad-driven, picky shopping.
GUCCI!
Surely you grasp my point – their market presence has grown to the point they are a mainstay?
Aeropostale was around when I was 13-14.
and that was a while ago.
Sorta floats between Boerum Hill and Carroll Gardens, Mr. president.
This sort of clothing is for the private school set, I should think. The kids at my children’s public school sport Old Navy and Target fashion.
Degraw between Smith & Court = Boerum Hill?
They do, sort of; they shop at Aeropostale. Aeropostale is the Gap for this generation.
I see a lot more older teens than tweens – the 11-14 set. Funny meeting all these teens, all born in 92, 93, 94, a year or so before their parents likely moved to Park Slope.

I actually see a TON of what look like young teenagers all over Park Slope these days and I’m sure they get an allowance from mom and dad.
barf. and you should really stop looking at young teenagers.
