Prospective buyers are thinking of purchasing a home that has been in the same family hands since it was built in the early 20th century. Digging at the Department of Buildings uncovered the fact that there isn’t a certificate of occupancy and no permits have ever been filed.

There have definitely been some renovations to the interior and the buyers are wondering if the lack of previous permits will cause an issue with future renovations. What should they know before leaping in?
