Demo Damage

Its a right of passage with any demo that something gets broken or thrown away accidentally so we shouldn't have expected to be spared. Thankfully, our demo damage christening wasn't catastrophic.

Mr. Limestone came by to check on the progress one afternoon to see our clawfoot tub peaking out of the garbage pile. Gah! After much scrambling it was pulled out in one piece but with some significant damage to the rim in the form of the enamel chipped off. Contractor assures us this can be fixed and will look like new by filling in the gouges and re-enameling. Time will tell.

In the meantime, all well wishes for the renewed health of our soaking tub are appreciated.

In other updates, the demo is just about complete and plumbing has begun. To be honest, photos of pipes don't do anything for me so I don't have any fun stories to make them worth posting. I'm sure when I have running water I'll be feeling a lot more excited about it but now I'm just worried about it being installed properly.

A tip from my contractor - when the plumbing is done, BEFORE the dry-walls go up, take pictures of these unexciting pipes, because if you ever have to get to them AFTER the renovation is finished, it will be really nice to know where the pipes are.

Thanks for the tip RG. We'll definitely do that.
