Drats! Foiled again.

Just when things were looking up in renovation land (plans finalized, contractor bid received and negotiated, start date agreed), we're stopped dead in our tracks. Our plans have been "disapproved" by the DOB.
The main objection seem to be a misunderstanding from the inspectors point of view that we were planning on changing the CofO (we're not). Our architect assures us that we should be able to rationally explain the situation to the inspector and move on. So why do I feel like crying?
I won't go into a long diatribe about the unfairness of it all - but does anyone have any experience with this type of thing to share? I'm hoping to hear a little good news but I'll take what I can get.

This sort of misunderstanding is common in the bureaucracy of the DOB and an architect or expediter should be able to clear it up in a week or so. As long as they filed an "alt-2" application (no change to CofO) and not and "alt-1," you should be fine. It is frustrating though.

Do not worry, this is typical. It will take few minutes for architect or expediter to sit down with reviewer and explain. they always give you a run around that is why you hire professionals.
