In tony Rhinebeck, a 904-square-foot converted barn, on an acre of land, for rent for $1,395 a month. It has a heated outbuilding (painting or writing studio, anyone?), a stone patio and a large deck.

In Westerlo, further north in Albany County, is a capacious barn conversion. Well, okay, maybe capacious isn’t entirely accurate, since it’s only 1,200 square feet, but it looks like 1,000 of those feet make up the kitchen/dining/living area, so it appears loft-like.
It’s on over eight acres, and the taxes are very low indeed: less than $3,000 a year.

And in the department of luxury barns, or barn-inspired luxury architecture, comes this Kinderhook contemporary. For $1.2 million, your ritzy escape includes a 50-foot lap pool, four bedrooms, three baths and 2,700 square feet.
Not convinced by the photos that you’ll be able to finally relax here? Check the copy: “An axial alignment of rooms create this contemporary sanctuary.”
