ALMOST ready

After 3 solid months of effort (involving Me and T working every evening until 1 a.m. and every weekend), 3 contractors, and many thousands of dollars -we finally have an apartment-that only needed minor work (HA) --ready for rent --although we still have a couple of last minute things to do (which is always the case).
(pics of all references on my prior post)
Remember that hallway with the unsalvagable parquet?
we replaced it with this basket tile:

And do you remember the kitchen with the melted upper cabinets, ugly vinyl tile etc?

We hauled 1000 pounds of concrete out of this kitchen. We pulled out the fiberglass faux titles, then the real tile that was fixed with dollops of concrete, then some concrete, etc. We finally hit the wall--the brick wall--actually a very old crumbly brick wall which we weren't so sure we could save. But we did!
I must issue a disclaimer on the shiny brick wall--I looked and looked for the matte finish sealer that was rec-ed on the forum to no avail. We finally used a sealer recommended by a guy at Pinchnik--Brownstoners--we told him explicitly that WE WANTED A MATTE FINISH-and of course--that's not what we ended up with- SO its shiny--shiny and sealed-I am trying to get over the former by concentrating on the latter. As you may note there is no counter top or sink in this photo. That's because we purchased ourselves a double edged sword-a couple pf months ago. Bought a gorgeous piece of granite from a friend (who was selling it because of their own contractor mishap) we were psyched (about the great buy not about our friends' misfortune)-- but we only yesterday found a sink that would fit into the cut out (after hitting every plumbing supply place we could think of and scouring the net)--I'll post a pic after its actually installed. We also want to add a small piece of butcher block counter---which --turns out--is a rare commodity in Brooklyn.

This room was actually completed by our first contractor (more on our trials in tribulations with the contractors when I get around to writing the series I am thinking of calling " The lazy, the absent and the criminal)
Master Bedroom

But the room turned out o.k.

This apartment is so great because it has 5 closets--one of which is a mondo fab dream closet--hope our prospective tenants agree!

Its eerie and thrilling that this apartment is finally taking shape---there were so many hours of despair when we thought it was never going to happen.
