About

Architensions is an innovative architecture and urban design multidisciplinary studio dedicated to exploring the relationship between architecture and the social developments of contemporary cities. We thoroughly consider the interaction between user and space, investigating new ways of organizing ideas, and integrating the programmatic and functional essence of a building within the urban fabric. Architensions anchors each project to site specificity, through a process of reading the existing “genius loci” with special sensibility for new buildings placed into contexts of particular cultural and historic importance. The reading of the context allows understanding the places in time and space, with our minds and senses, deciphering the architectural forms during the design phase. Regardless of budget and size, and whether permanent or temporary, the studio takes each new work as a challenging opportunity to grow and experiment. Projects are always undertaken as a form of research. This leads to experiment with different materials, linked to the traditions of different places, cities, and countries. The studio revolves around the partnership of founding principal Alessandro Orsini and Nick Roseboro with their different educational and professional experiences from historic preservation to user interaction, which led to express the experiential qualities of the projects in our various methods of representation. We are an open platform for urban research and for the tectonic aspects of architecture at every scale, involving a team of innovating collaborators and consultants into all aspects of the design.
