Sapporo
Sapporo was recommended to us in a comment thread about Bay Ridge restaurants, but this Japanese joint hasn't gotten much press. "Sapporo probably comes the closest to anything resembling Japanese food in Bay Ridge without the over-the-top fancy decor and overpriced menu. I was delighted to come across friendly staff, reasonable prices, and a really good roll, a huge roll," says Yelper Ev T.
Adam G on BayRidgeTalk says, "I found their sushi fresh and reasonably priced. Place also seemed clean and they were always really friendly and always gave good service. Their food blew away Bay Ridge Sushi; better sushi and better food in general." How would you rate Sapporo?

I can not comment on sitdown dining, as I have only ordered delivery. This is my go-to sushi place in the nabe. Very fresh seafood and reasonably priced. I order almost once a week and have not had a bad experience yet. IMO much better than Bay Ridge Sushi. They will make rolls that aren't on their menu, just ask.... and they throw in freebies (cali roll/tuna roll etc) if you spend over 20 bucks. Sashimi peices are HUGE. Fast delivery.

I've never been. I'm really hesitant to try Sushi places unless they are very highly recommended. I'm really picky about how fresh the fish is as I tend to not like the fancy shmancy rolls with 10 different things thrown in but just straight up fish with a bit of soy sauce and ginger.
